On June 18, PrivatBank transferred UAH 19.4 billion in dividends to the state budget, which will be paid to the state as the bank's shareholder. According to the bank’s Chairman of the Supervisory Board Sharon Easky, in the last three years after the nationalization PrivatBank’s effective work has brought the state budget dividends worth UAH 55.4 billion.

“Four years ago, PrivatBank and the country's financial stability were saved at the expense of the taxes of Ukrainians. All these years, the bank has been returning the invested funds to the state, and today PrivatBank is the largest budget donor among banks,” said Sharon Easky. “PrivatBank once again proves that a state-owned company can and should be effective if it has high quality corporate governance, which has brought the bank to a new level of profitability and liquidity management. PrivatBank's net profit in 2020 constituted 61.2% of the profit of all Ukrainian banks.”

As PrivatBank reported in the statement published today on the results of its work on a special page of its website https://en.privatbank.ua/cpa/pidsumky, which is addressed to every Ukrainian – a shareholder of the bank, last year more than 600 thousand Ukrainians became the bank’s new customers. And the number of customers using Privat24 increased over the year by 3.4 million people, which is an absolute record for Ukraine.

“More than 20 million people have used PrivatBank's services at least once in their lives – that is half of all users of banking services in Ukraine, from individuals to companies and entrepreneurs,” said Gerhard Boesch, Chairman of the Management Board of PrivatBank. “We continue to actively develop services in Privat24 in order to reliably and safely serve customers even during periods of quarantine restrictions. PrivatBank is also a national leader in servicing small and medium-sized businesses. We did not stop lending to businesses despite the pandemic and helped customers to survive difficult times, which is why PrivatBank has grown by 116 thousand active corporate clients in just a year.”

It will be recalled that according to the annual report for 2020 agreed by the Supervisory Board and approved by the Government, PrivatBank spent UAH 19.4 billion on dividends to the state, which is 80% of net profit for 2020. According to the bank's annual report, its net profit for 2020 amounted to UAH 24.3 billion.
