Grace period is up to 55 days

Grace period is up to 55 days

Universal Gold card of PrivatBank has a grace period of use, during which you can use credit funds for free. This means that if you pay off the debt during the grace period, you will not have to pay interest on this loan!

Universal Gold cards have a grace period for using the credit up to 55 days. It means that in order not to pay interests, you have to pay back your debt before the 25th day (inclusive) of the month following the month when you used the credit.

Example 1

  • On January 1 you spent UAH 500 from the card; on January 20 you spent another UAH 800.
  • If you load UAH 1 300 on to the card before February 25, then you will not pay any interest.

Example 2

  • On January 1 you spent UAH 1,000 from the card; on January 30 you spent another UAH 400.
  • On February 2 you spent UAH 900, and on February 05 you spent another UAH 100.
  • If you load UAH 1,400 that you spent in January on to the card before February 25, then you will not pay any interest.

  • UAH 1,000 that you spent in February on to the card before March 25.

What is a mandatory loan payment?

If you fail to meet the grace period, then you will have to make a monthly payment to the card for the loan repayment. The minimum monthly payment is 5% of outstanding amount (but not less than UAH 100), which will not create a significant burden on your family budget and at the same time will prevent you from falling into arrears.

We made sure that you could find out the amount of the mandatory payment as simple as possible. You can check it yourself by means of an ATM, a self-service terminal, by calling 3700 or in Privat24 Internet-bank.

Example for accrual of interests for using the credit limit:

Debt amount, UAH        Number of days Accrued interest amount, UAH
UAH 1,000 (purchase on January 3) From Jan. 03 to Feb. 04 inclusive = 33 days 1 000 * 33 * 3,4 * 12 / 365 / 100 = 36,89 UAH
UAH 1,500 (amount of purchases on January 3 and February 5) From Feb. 05 to Feb. 19 inclusive = 15 days 1 500 * 15 * 3,4 * 12 / 365 / 100 = 25,15 UAH
UAH 1,400 (debt after repayment on February 20) From Feb. 20 to Feb. 27 inclusive = 8 days 1 400 * 8 * 3,4 * 12 / 365 / 100 = 12,52 UAH

The total amount of accrued interest as of Feb. 28: UAH 74,56 = 37,97 + 25,89 + 12,89

Frequently asked questions on the grace period

What is the grace period?
Universal Gold card of PrivatBank has a grace period of use, during which you can use credit funds for free. This means that if you pay off the debt during the grace period, you will not have to pay interest on this loan!

What is the grace period of Universal Gold cards?
Universal Gold cards have a grace period for using the credit up to 55 days It means that in order not to pay interests you have to pay back your debt before the 25th day of the month following the month when you used the credit.

How does the grace period of "55 days" work?
In order to take advantage of the grace period, you must deposit the amount of the debt of the past month on any day before the 25th day of the current month. The grace period is not applied if your card has outstanding debts of previous periods. In this case, the grace period will not be applied to new expenditures!

Example: You did not use your card earlier. On March 2, you made a purchase in the store with your Universal Gold card for UAH 500, and on March 28 you made a purchase for another UAH 500. By April 25 you had paid back UAH 1000 to your card and did not pay for the use of credit funds.

How do I save on purchases with my Universal Gold card?
Payment by Universal Gold card in stores is carried out without any fees. In stores that are the partners of Bonus Plus program you make purchases without any fees and earn some good bonuses. For cash withdrawal at an ATM you pay a fee, the size of which depends on the amount of withdrawal. The fee will be added to your debt.

Example: You have no debts on your card. On March 5, you made a purchase from credit funds for the amount of UAH 300, and on March 28 you withdrew another UAH 450 from the card. The fee for withdrawal of credit funds at ATMs and cash desks of any Ukrainian or foreign bank in the amount from UAH 400.01 to UAH 500 is UAH 30.
On April 5 you had to withdraw another UAH 1,500 from your card. The fee for withdrawal of credit funds at ATMs and cash desks of any Ukrainian or foreign bank in the amount more than UAH 1,000 is 4% of the withdrawn amount, which is UAH 60. After paying out the amount of expenses in March (300 + 450 + 30 = 780 UAH) by April 25, you cannot worry about those UAH 1,560 taken at the beginning of the month - interest on them will not be charged if you pay 1 560 UAH to 25 May!

• 3.4% is a constant value (the monthly interest rate according to the schedule of rates);
• 12 is a constant value (the number of months in a year).
